John grew up in Winthrop, Iowa and graduated from East Buchanan High School in 2013. After high school, he continued his education at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. In 2017, John returned to Winthrop and joined his father Greg at the Fawcett Funeral Home. In 2023, he graduated from Des Moines Area Community College with his Mortuary Science degree. John started his internship, working full time for Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home January 22, 2024. John is a volunteer firefighter with the Winthrop Volunteer Fire Department. John and his wife Anna, have two boys Maverick and Jackson. John enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with friends.
