Wayne F. Thompson, 84, of rural Fayette, Iowa died on Tuesday evening, May 6, 2014 at the Hillcrest Home at Sumner. There will be no funeral services. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Wayne Francis Thompson was born on November 8, 1929 at Chicago, Illinois the son of Norman George & Frances Elizabeth (Johnson) Thompson. Wayne graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois in the Class of 1947. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Management from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Wayne was united in marriage to Arlene Joan Stauber on February 26, 1955 in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. Wayne farmed in the Maynard-Fayette area for 40 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Maynard. Wayne is survived by his Wife: Arlene Thompson of Fayette and a Niece: Kathy (Gregory) Poseley of Orangevale, California. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Shirley and a sister in infancy.
