Shela B. Maness, 70, of Arlington, Iowa, died peacefully on Sunday morning, September 26, 2021, at her home with her family and a special friend by her side. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Arlington, with Rev. Scott Hall officiating. Visitation: 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday and for one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment: Union Cemetery (Putnam Township) Rural Aurora, Iowa. Memorial Fund: St. Jude Children's Hospital. Shela Beth Thein was born on November 9, 1950 in Edgewood, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd & Dorothy (Maser) Thein. She received her education at the Starmont Community School, Arlington. Shela was married to Charles Klatt and they were blessed with two daughters, Kathy & Janet. They later divorced. Shela married Charles Edward Maness on March 7, 1973, in Galena, Illinois. They were blessed with two daughters, Ronda & Rebecca. The family lived at Arlington for many years. Shela worked as a CNA at Oelwein Health Care for 38 years and Mercy Living Plus for 11 years, retiring in March of 2021. She was a devoted Elvis Presley fan. Shela enjoyed dancing, cooking, vegetable and flower gardening, crocheting, embroidering, camping, caring for the elderly and spending time with her family.
