Rosina L. Guyer, 96, of West Union, Iowa died on Tuesday morning, March 10, 2009 at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, Iowa after a long illness. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Zion Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa with Rev. Stacey Nalean-Carlson officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday and for one hour before the service on Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church in West Union. Interment: West Union Cemetery at West Union, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents--Husband (Lawrence on January 8, 1988)--Daughter (Mary Jacobson)--Granddaughter (Elizabeth Meyer)--5 Brothers (Vernie Meyer, William Meyer, John Meyer, Truman Meyer and Walt Meyer)--4 Sisters (Esther Plaster, Anna Schroeder, Mathilda Knapp, and LaRhue "Susie" Helgerson). Rosina Lissete Meyer was born on September 12, 1912 in Dover Township, Fayette County, Iowa the daughter of Lewis W. and Mary (Koester) Meyer. She was confirmed in April of 1925 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado and graduated from the 8th grade on June 4, 1927 at the Winneshiek County Schools. Rosina was united in marriage to Lawrence Oliver Guyer on October 29, 1942 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church at Eldorado. She and Lawrence farmed in the Clermont area for many years. They moved to West Union upon their retirement from farming. Rosina was then a nurse's aid and medical aid at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union for 15 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in West Union.
