Ronald L. Lickiss, 77, of Oelwein, Iowa, died, Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Harmony Waterloo in Waterloo, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, with Pastor Philip Rownd officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and for one hour before the service on Thursday.
Interment: Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington, Iowa.
Military Honors: Ross Reid American Legion Post #9 Oelwein, Iowa.

Ronald Loren Lickiss was born on July 6, 1949, at Sumner, Iowa, the son of Loren Perry & Evelyne Mary (Paulus) Lickiss. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1968. Ron served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Jane Ann Versluis on August 5, 1972, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein by Rev. Harry Koelker. Ron enjoyed driving semi-truck for other farmers and later in life did custom round bailing for farmers. He was a member of the Oelwein American Legion and the Farm Bureau. Ron enjoyed hunting, stock car racing, watching westerns, and visiting with anyone willing to share a conversation.

Ron is survived by his Wife: Jane Lickiss of Oelwein; 5 Children: Les (Becky) Lickiss of Waukon, Jeff Lickiss of Aurora, Ron E. (Erin) Lickiss of Stanley, Kari (Ryan) Ladeburg of Fairbank & Daryn (Amy) Lickiss of Oelwein; 11 Grandchildren: Morgan, Wyatt, Addison, Cori, Olivia, Garrett, Tucker, Madeline, Kylee, Austin and Holly & 4 Great-grandchildren: Tinley, Piper, Reagan and Remi Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
