Randy Harrison

Randy H. Harrison, 67, of Maynard, Iowa, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home.

Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 13, 2025, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard.
A Private Family Graveside will be held at Long Grove Cemetery, Maynard, Iowa

Randy Hubert Harrison was born July 11, 1957, in West Union, the son of Paul Adolph and Donna Marie (Nicholson) Harrison. He graduated from West Central High School in the class of 1976. Randy worked as an independent contractor through the years along with the Fayette Lumber Yard. He went on to build his own house in 1997. On February 14, 1987, Randy married Randa R. Grummitt. To this union, one child was born, and another was later adopted. They later divorced. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Patriot Guard Riders, traveling, camping and dogs. Randy spent many years serving his community with the Maynard Fire Department.

Randy is survived by his two daughters: Hanna (John) Prickett of Westgate and Sara (Joseph Meek) Harrison of Independence; six grandchildren: Maranda, Amberlyn and Robert Prickett, Blake, Jesse and Grace Johnson; one great grandchild: Leiland Johnson; sister: Pamela (Jerry) Hamlyn of Cedar Falls; sister-in-law: Cherrill Harrison of Cedar Falls; special friend: Karen Tieden of Elkader; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Larry Harrison; and sister: Linda Fairbanks.
