Randy Inman, 66, of Maynard, Iowa died on Friday afternoon, November 27, 2020 at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner. Private Family Visitation & Funeral Service at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard with Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Final Resting Place: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa. Randal Kay Inman was born June 19, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Warren Arvid & Marjorie (Schulmeister) Inman. Randy graduated from Tripoli High School in the class of 1972 and continued his education in auto mechanics at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. Randy was united in marriage to Carol Jean Dettmer on June 15, 1974 at St. John's United Church of Christ, Siegel, rural Tripoli, Iowa. Randy worked at John Deere in Waterloo for nine years and then owned and operated the Maynard Locker from 1982 to 1989. Randy enjoyed dancing in his younger years, listening to music, reading, swimming, going to his favorite restaurants and spending time with his family. Randy is survived by his Wife of 46 years: Carol Inman of Maynard; Son: Mitchel (Tara) Inman of Omaha, Nebraska; Daughter: Michelle (Jason) Gearhart of Oelwein; 5 Grandchildren: Ray, Libby, Grant, Leah and Sara; Parents: Warren & Marge Inman of Cedar Falls; 2 Sisters: Rebecca (Jim) Morrall of Omaha, Nebraska & Dione (Bill) Ohrt of Ionia: In-Laws: Marilyn Dettmer of Charles City, Jolene Lindsey of Loveland, Colorado, Eugene (Helen) Dettmer of Sumner, Wayne Dettmer of Lansing & Patty Steven of Elma and Nieces & Nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother: Greg Inman; father-in-law & mother-in-law: LaVern & Ruth Dettmer; brothers-in-law: James Dettmer, Steven Dettmer & Jerry Steven.
