Paul E. Betz, 74, of Oelwein, Iowa, died peacefully on Thursday afternoon, February 6, 2025, at his home.

Paul Edward Betz was born on May 5, 1950, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of George Thomas & Dorothy Jean (Dallenbach) Betz. He graduated from West Central High School in Maynard in the class of 1968 and continued his education at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar for two years. Paul was united in marriage to Sandra Jo Streittmatter on April 17, 1971, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein. They were blessed with three children. Paul was a dairy farmer at rural Maynard for 35 years from 1968 to 1997. He was head custodian at West Central School in Maynard for seven years and then worked for Rite Price Office Supply in Oelwein for seven years. Paul and Sandie moved to Oelwein in 2011.

Paul was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard. He had previously served as President for six years and secretary for five years of the Fayette County Dairy Heard Improvement Association. Paul also served as President of the 73rd District of AMPI for two years.

Paul is survived by his 2 Daughters: Leya Betz of Maynard & Laine (Kenneth) Aeschliman of Wadena; Son: Travis Betz of Independence; 4 Grandchildren: Kenadie Betz and Chase, Lincoln and Brock Aeschliman; 3 Brothers: Jerry Betz of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Alan (Debra) Betz of Churdan and Thomas Betz of Maynard; Mother-In-Law: Lois Streittmatter of Oelwein; Nieces & Nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Sandie on July 11, 2024.
