Margaret (Marge) Elizabeth Hannan Miller, 67, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City following a stroke. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Paul McManus officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Parish Scripture Service: 7:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhomc.com Marge was born on September 1, 1945 at Oelwein, Iowa the daughter of Clement Michael & Margaret Jane (Oakes) Hannan. She received her education in Stanley and at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Oelwein, graduating in 1964. Marge was united in marriage briefly to Michael Miller in 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein. From that union, a son, John Miller, was born. She retired from Mercy Hospital in Oelwein in the spring of 2012 after 45 years of employment as a nurse's aide. She was a one-of-a-kind, hardworking person who loved all of her patients. Over the years, she also painted many homes in the Oelwein area. Marge was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed working outside, painting, cooking, baking, spending time with her family, and Pepsi. She was always appreciated for her innate ability to tell it like it was. Marge is survived by her Son: John Miller of Oelwein; Grandson: Jacob Miller, an E-4 petty officer in the Navy, currently serving his country in Naples, Italy; 5 Sisters: Mildred (George) Smith of Waterloo, Elaine (Nick) Britten of New Auburn, Wisconsin, Kay Bouck of Oelwein, Karen Lamphier of Fayette & Jan (Bill) Rhoades of Maynard; 3 Sisters-In-Law: Linda Hannan of Oelwein, Debbie Hannan of Fairbank, Pat Hannan of Oelwein and Dozens of Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces & Great Nephews. Marge was preceded in death by her maternal & paternal grandparents, parents, 5 brothers: Wayne, Jim, Dick, Joe and David and 2 nephews.
