Loretta E. Treptow, 99, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Monday evening, December 4, 2023, at MercyOne Oelwein Medical Center.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 8, 2023, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate, Iowa, with Rev. Kent Peck officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Friday.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Loretta Emma Wolfgram was born April 19, 1924, in rural Maynard, Iowa, the daughter of William Herman and Emma Marie (Reinhardt) Wolfgram. In 1941, she graduated from Maynard High School. On November 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Harold Henry Treptow in Koeke, Missouri. Loretta and Harold raised their family on the Treptow Family Farm, south of Westgate. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate. After 35 years of farming, Loretta and Harold moved to their home in Oelwein in 1977. Loretta enjoyed traveling, bus trips, playing cards, taking care of flowers, and spending time with family and friends.

Loretta is survived by her 7 children: Russ (JoAnn) Treptow of Maynard, Barbara Rocarek of Cedar Rapids, Leon (Barb) Treptow of Sumner, Maxine Buhr of Cedar Falls, Larry (Linda) Treptow of Oelwein, Betty (Don) Priebe of Kansas City, Missouri and Shirley Barker of Oelwein; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; brother: Rev. Howard (Dorothy) Wolfgram of Maynard; sister-in-law: Joyce Wolfgram of Apple Valley, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Harold on June 17, 1987; son-in-law: Edward Rocarek, Jr.; brothers: Lloyd Wolfgram and Dr. Edwin Wolfgram; sister: Florine Griebel; sister-in-law: Dorothea Wolfgram; and brother-in-law: Marvin Griebel.
