Leon E. Voshell, 84, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and formerly of Arlington died on Wednesday evening, June 2, 2021 at his home in Cedar Falls with his family by his side. Graveside Memorial Services will be held at a later date by the family and the U.S. Marine Corp Honor Guard. Inurnment: Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington, Iowa. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Leon Eugene Voshell was born on April 25, 1937 at the family home in Arlington, Iowa, the son of Chancy & Virginia E. (Northrop) Voshell. He graduated from Arlington High School in the class of 1955. Leon then joined the United States Marine Corps for three years, serving in Naha, Okinawa for two years of his enlistment. Following his military service, Leon married Louise Elaine Thein in 1959 in Preston, Minnesota. Leon worked at Clay Equipment and at a Standard Oil Station in Cedar Falls, at John Deere in Waterloo for six years, Bertch Cabinets in Waterloo for six years, he owned and operated service stations in Waterloo and Denver for twelve years and then worked as a chef at the Best Western Holiday Inn Red River Restaurant. Leon will be remembered by his family for his kindness, as a jack of all trades and the trips to the casino that he enjoyed. Leon is survived by his 3 Son: Craig (Judy) Voshell of Janesville, Brett Voshell of Arlington & Bartt Voshell (Danielle Mulligan) of Waterloo; Daughter: Julie Barrett of Evansdale; Daughter-In-Law: Angie Voshell of Waterloo; 8 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren & Many Nieces & Nephews. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Louise on October 1, 2001, son: Wayne; Grandson: Justin Johnson; 8 Brothers: Lawrence, Boyd, Raymond, Darrel, Lester, Lyle, Duane & Delbert and 3 Sisters: Maxine Voshell, Violet Nielsen & Lorna Peterman.
