Lauretta L. Jones, 73, of Arlington, Iowa died Wednesday morning, August 28, 2019 at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Arlington with Pastor Ruth Ann Scott officiating

Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday and for one hour before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Interment: Cass Township Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Lauretta Lou Beltz was born May 29, 1946 at Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Logan and Lucille June (Smith) Beltz. She graduated from Starmont High School in 1965. On November 26, 1966, she was united in marriage to Darwin Dean Jones at Arlington. Lauretta was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking cakes, making crafts, painting gourds and bowling balls, shopping, cruising in the Camaros and spending time with her friends and family.

Lauretta is survived by her husband Darwin Jones of Arlington; 2 granddaughters: Nikki Maker (Dustin Chettinger) of Garber and Sammi Maker of Manchester; 2 great grandchildren: Tori Chettinger and Paytin Chettinger; brother-in-law: LaVerne (Rita) Jones of Manchester; sister-in-law: Gwen Jones of Lamont; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Darrin Jones on June 13, 2002; daughter: Laurie Maker on November 27, 2014; son-in-law: Gary Maker on November 18, 1996; sister: Leota Egan; and 2 brothers-in-law: Dan Egan and Verle Jones.
