Kathrine S. Martin, 71, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Friday morning, March 13, 2009 at her home after a lengthy illness. Memorial Service: 12 Noon on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa; Officiating: Rev. Harry Koelker; Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home; Inurnment will be at a later date; Kathy has donated her body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program for the advancement of medical teaching and study. A memorial fund has been established in her name Kathy is survived by: 3 Sons--Joe (Sandy) Martin of Eagan, Minnesota Pat (Ingrid) Martin of Quantico, Virginia Steven (Linda) Martin of Baudette, Minnesota Daughter--Laura Martin (Bob Pinnow) of Shoreview, Minnesota 8 Grandchildren Brother--John (Rosie) Luchsinger of Davenport, Florida Brother-in-law--Lee Brimhall of Novi, Michigan Special Family Friends--Lei and Skip Meyer and children of Oelwein, Iowa She was preceded in death by her Parents and a Sister (Mary Brimhall). Kathrine Sue Luchsinger was born on July 8, 1937 at New Glarus, Wisconsin the daughter of Clifford and Eugenia (Long) Luchsinger. She graduated from New Glarus High School at New Glarus, Wisconsin in 1955. Kathrine married Thomas Michael Martin on May 21, 1962 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union four children were born. Kathy and Tom later divorced. Kathy was a substance abuse counselor for Northeast Iowa Mental Health in Oelwein, Iowa. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alano Club, and the American Cancer Society.
