Junia Beth Learn, 84, of Maynard, Iowa died on Wednesday morning, April 21, 2010 at the Grandview Health Care Center in Oelwein, Iowa Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa; Officiating: Rev. Darwin Moore; Visitation: from 9:30 A.M. to service time on Saturday; Inurnment will be at a later date. A Memorial fund has been established in her name Online Obituary at: www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Junia is survived by: 2 Sons--Donald (Kathleen) Learn of Davenport, Iowa and Harold Eugene Learn of Long Grove, Iowa 2 Grandchildren--Richard (Shauna) Learn of Long Grove, Iowa and Betty Learn of Davenport, Iowa 3 Great Grandchildren--Brecken and Dillon Learn of Long Grove, Iowa and Katie Learn of Davenport, Iowa Sister--Alice White of Morrison, Illinois Sister-in-law--Darlene Willadsen of Elgin, Iowa Many Nieces and Nephews She was preceded in death by her Parents-Husband (Harold Lee Learn on October 9, 1986) and siblings (Donald, Francis, Hubert, Donna and Elaine). Junia Beth Cummings was born on March 18, 1926 in Volga, Iowa the daughter of Donald R. and Ida Ana (Nydegger) Cummings. She was baptized on January 8, 1928. She graduated from Elgin High School at Elgin, Iowa on May 18, 1944. Junia married Harold Lee Learn on May 21, 1944 at the Garden Prairie Church in rural Arlington, Iowa. They farmed in the Brainard and Arlington areas before moving to Davenport, Iowa on April 4, 1964. She was received into the Calvary Baptist Church in Davenport on April 4, 1964. Junia worked various manufacturing and retail jobs.. She was a long-time manager of Scharff's Clothing Store at the Village Shopping Center at Davenport, Iowa and retired from that position. Junia and Harold became snowbirds in 1981. They wintered in Casa Grande, Arizona and spent the rest of the year in Davenport and Maynard, Iowa. Junia has been a resident of the Grandview Health Care Center since July of 2007.
