Joshua D. Voshell, 44, of Decorah, Iowa and formerly of Oelwein, died peacefully on October 20, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 26, 2026, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, Highway 150 South, Oelwein, Iowa, with Deacon Jim Patera officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday and for one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Interment: Hazleton (Fontana) Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa.
Memorials will be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Joshua Dean Voshell was born August 14, 1982, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Travis Duane & Lynn Marie (Kisner) Voshell. He graduated from Oelwein Community High School in the class of 2001 and continued his education with a degree in police science at Hawkeye Tech Community College in Waterloo. Josh had previously worked for Quality Choices based out of Oelwein and Rise based out of Elkader. Josh currently lived in Decorah. His hobbies included hiking, rock hunting, music and going to concerts, tinkering on his truck and being a collector of many things. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew and loved him.

Josh is survived by his Girlfriend: Stacey Collins of Decorah; Parents: Travis & Lynn Voshell of Oelwein; Brother: Tyler (Ayli) Voshell of Dunkerton; 2 Nephews: Colton & Weston Voshell of Dunkerton; Maternal Grandparents: Larry & Vi Kisner of Parkersburg and Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Floyd & Mary Voshell and an Aunt: Liane Kolecheck.
