Jane L. Palmer, 63, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Sunday morning, February 5, 2017 at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters in Oelwein.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Denise Lindemann officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Jane Lee Adams was born September 19, 1953, at Oelwein the daughter of Leslie and Ruth Ann (Kunkle) Adams. She attended Oelwein Community Schools and graduated from Independence High School in 1971. On May 19, 1973, she was united in marriage to Donald Melvin Palmer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence. Over the years Jane was employed as a custodian for the Oelwein Community Schools, Kidsville in Independence and Isle of Capri in Marquette and Waterloo. Jane enjoyed going to the casino, attending her grandchildren's sports activities and most of all spending time with her family.
Jane is survived by her husband of 44 years: Donald Palmer of Oelwein; daughter: Tammy (Ed) Richards of Fayette; 2 sons: Tim (Sheena) Palmer of Oelwein and Nick (Nycole) Palmer of Oelwein; 10 grandchildren: Dustin, Denver and Devin Richards, Mackenzie, Addyson, and Lila Palmer, Cole, Camren, Caden and Corbyn Palmer; 2 brothers: George (Judy) Adams of Clinton and Jim (Margie) Adams of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandmother: Stella Kunkle; 2 brothers: Paul and Bill Adams; and 1 sister: Judy Unglesbee.
