Imogene E. Pirillo, 89, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Tuesday morning, August 30, 2016, at Arlington Place Assisted Living in Oelwein. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein with Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein and for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Scripture Service: 7:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa. A Memorial Fund has been established for the Gunderson Palmer Hospice, West Union. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Imogene Elizabeth Haught was born on August 9, 1927 in Elkport, Iowa, the daughter of Edward Lyman & Adelia Alvina (Gerloff) Haught. She was baptized in the Lutheran Church in Elkport. Imogene graduated from the Strawberry Point High School. Imogene was united in marriage to Melvin Amos Nus on February 22, 1947 at the Methodist parsonage in Delhi, Iowa. She joined the Methodist Church on February 11, 1951. Imogene was a homemaker. The family lived at Strawberry Point and Arlington and moved to Oelwein in 1956. Melvin died on December 5, 1970. Imogene was united in marriage to Michael Peter Pirillo on December 29, 1972 at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein. Michael died on May 3, 2004. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Grace United Methodist Women and the Oelwein American Legion Auxiliary. Imogene enjoyed knitting, traveling, NASCAR and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her Son: Scott Nus of Oelwein; 3 Daughters: JoEllen Riley of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Christine (Stephen) Bergeson of Oelwein & Mary (Quinton) Reinking of Oelwein; 11 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great Grandchildren; Sister: Ivanelle Bushaw of Strawberry Point; 2 Step-Sons: Michael Pirillo of Florida & Jere Pirillo of Florida; Step-Daughter: Jan (Jim) Schuman of Waterloo; Several Step Grandchildren and Many Nieces and Nephews. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 4 sisters: Marie Lamphier, Louise Lamphier, Vergie Havig and an infant sister: Ezala Haught and 3 brothers: Lyle Haught, Arlo Haught and Lloyd Haught.
