Gary "Cuda" Lee Fink Obituary (1960

Gary L. "Cuda" Fink, 60, of Maynard, Iowa died Wednesday evening, August 11, 2021, at his home after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Dennis Frank officiating. Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Maynard and for one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment: Long Grove Cemetery in Maynard. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Gary Lee Fink was born December 18, 1960, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Dale Arthur and Doris Marie (French) Fink. When Gary was 12 years old, his father Dale died from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Gary attended elementary school in Denver, Iowa and graduated from West Central High School in Maynard. On September 18, 1982, he was united in marriage to Tamara Jean Bunn at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard. For many years he worked for Roger Arthur and later at Donaldson's in Oelwein. After Donaldson's closed, Gary went back to school and graduated from Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar. In 2001, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Gary mowed lawns in Maynard for Scott Baker and was custodian at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard for several years until his mobility declined. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard, where he once served on church council. Gary enjoyed listening to music, fishing, hunting morel mushrooms, gardening, watching The Andy Griffith Show, and spending time with his family. He was a huge Green Bay Packer fan, always telling people, "The Pack Is Back!" Gary was patient, kind, soft spoken, and loved to visit with people. In the end, no matter how much pain he was in, he always had that big smile. Gary is survived by his wife: Tammi Fink of Maynard; 3 sons: Scott (Stacy) Fink of Oelwein, Brett Fink of Maynard and Brandon (Paige) Fink of Independence; 7 grandchildren: Holly, Abrielle and Levi Fink, Karter Hardwick and Marley Fink and Kayson and Cora Fink; parents: Doris and Gene Sieck of Maynard; 3 brothers: Al (Roxanne) Fink of Randalia; Jim (Dawn) Sieck of Waverly and Joel (Jennifer) Sieck of Maynard; parents-in-law: Ab and Judy Bunn of Maynard; brothers-in-law: Bill (Kari) Bunn of Westgate and Brad (Kay) Bunn of Maynard; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Dale Fink; grandbabies: Harper and Jackson Fink; and brother-in-law: Jim Bunn.
