Elsie Lou Veach, 76, of Charles City, Iowa, and formerly of Oelwein, died Thursday morning, August 20, 2015 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with Rev. Paul C. McManus & Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Elsie Lou Veach was born September 22, 1938 in Conception Junction, Missouri the daughter of Eugene L. and Agnes Martha (Holtman) Veach. Elsie was disabled due to an illness of Whooping Cough when she was 14 months old. She has been a resident of the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City for the past 34 years. She enjoyed being outdoors, the fishing days sponsored by the care center and all of the visitors and staff at the care center. Elsie is survived by her 4 sisters: Jeannie (Pete) Kalb of Stanley, Evelyn (Duane) Mayer of Wilmar, Minnesota, Betty (Bill) Cole of Ames and Marilyn (Ken) Adamson of Coralville; Many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
