Jean Hill, 90, of Oelwein, Iowa died Tuesday morning, November 29, 2022, at MercyOne Oelwein Senior Care in Oelwein. Private Family Graveside Funeral Service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein with Rev. Joshua Schunk officiating. Public Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein, Iowa. A Memorial Fund has been established for St. Jude Children's Hospital. She graduated from Oelwein High School in the class of 1949. Jean was united in marriage to Harvey George Hill on June 25, 1950, at Oelwein, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Robert and Barbara. Jean was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening and quilting. Jean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, WELCA, church choir, church council and alter guild. Jean is survived by her Son: Robert (Cindy) Hill of Flemington, Missouri; Daughter: Barbara (Robert) Arends of Sedalia, Missouri; 4 Grandchildren: Crystal (Scott) Coleman of Ft. Myers, Florida, Shaun (Marissa) Hill of Ft. Myers, Florida, Eric Carpenter of Abiline, Texas and Sarah (Mackenzie) Potts of Hazleton; 6 Great Grandchildren and Sister: Helen Trower of Waterloo. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Harvey "Bud" Hill on December 20, 2013, infant grandson: Matthew Thomas Carpenter, 3 brothers: Walter Graesch, Russell Graesch and Floyd Graesch and a sister: Florence Fuhrman.
