Eileene Costley, 91, of Oelwein, Iowa died on Tuesday morning, October 1, 2013 at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein, Iowa Memorial Graveside Services will be at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein, Iowa; Officiating: Rev. Connie Markle; There will be no visitation. Arrangements by the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa. Memorials may be given in her name to the Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters Foundation in Oelwein, Iowa Online Obituary at: www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Hazel Eileene McClannahan was born on August 25, 1922 at Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of William and Oma (Miller) McClanahan. She graduated from Lamphier High School at Springfield, Illinois in 1941 and then attended MacMurray College. Eileene married Melvin Wesley Costley in 1950 at Springfield, Illinois. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. James Roling in Oelwein and later as a certified nursing assistant at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters in Oelwein for over 44 years having started in 1960. Eileene was a longtime Oelwein resident and has been a resident of Mercy Living Plus since April of 2010. Eileene is survived by 3 Grandchildren; Colin (Angie) Costley of Wichita, Kansas; Shannon (Bill) DeMars of Atlanta, Georgia and Danya (J.J.) Campbell of Delphos, Kansas 5 Great Grandchildren Sister--Betty Schoenborn of Springfield, Illinois Special friends--Royce and Nancy Penhollow of Oelwein, Iowa She was preceded in death by her parents; husband (Melvin W. Costley on March 20, 1983) and her son (David E. Costley on June 2, 1982).
