Edward George Otdoerfer, 69, died Wednesday evening, August 19th, 2026, at the Independence Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Iowa.

Graveside Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 24, 2026, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, Iowa.

Edward George Otdoerfer was born on December 2, 1956, the son of George and Millie (Schueler) Otdoerfer. He graduated from Starmont High School in 1975. He was united in marriage to Deborah Masters in 1984 at Peace Lutheran Church in Oelwein. This marriage was blessed with three children, Tami, Chad and Brian and two grandchildren.

Ed was a business professional. He owned a store in Oelwein and sold many items for people. He enjoyed visiting flea markets and collecting antiques. Ed loved children and cats. Some of his other favorites were chicken noodle soup, pumpkin pie, vanilla ice cream, and listening to the radio. He felt strongly about his beliefs, held high standards, and believed in justice.

Ed was a very loving, kind, sharing, and generous person. He went to be with Jesus, his Savior.

Ed is survived by his two sons: Chad (Olivia) Otdoerfer and Brian Otdoerfer; a sister Barbara (Willliam) Palasek and a brother Floyd (Patricia) Otdoerfer.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tami Anderson; wife, Deborah Otdoerfer, and a stepson, Troy Clark.
