Earl “Howard” Nading, 82, of Oelwein, Iowa, died peacefully on Thursday morning, September 3, 2026, at MercyOne, Oelwein.

There will be no services.

Earl Howard Nading was born February 17, 1944, in rural Strawberry Point, Iowa, the son of James Earl and Dorothy C. (Cree) Nading. In 1961, he graduated from Strawberry Point High School. On June 14, 1964, he was united in marriage to Judy Lucille Goodin at St. Sebald Lutheran Church, Strawberry Point. After 37 ½ years, Howard retired from Donaldson’s in Oelwein as a leadman. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, reading, sitting at the picnic table looking at the yard and spending time with his family.

Howard is survived by his wife: Judy Nading of Oelwein; 2 children: Nathan (Coreen) Nading of Strawberry Point and Angela (Chad) Nading-Annis of Maynard; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother: Alice Sperry Nading and 3 brothers: James David Nading, Kenneth Allan Nading and Richard Lynn Nading.
