David Allen Bunn was born December 14, 1941, in Maynard, the son of Homer and Letha Ora (Prideaux) Bunn. He graduated from West Central High School in 1960. After graduating from high school, Dave worked at John Deere in Waterloo. Dave decided that he wanted to see a bit of the world, so he followed his two older brothers and joined the United States Army. He was proud to have served honorably for three years. On June 25, 1965, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Ann Davis at the Randalia Methodist Church in Randalia. After serving in the Army, Dave resumed his working career at Donaldson’s in Oelwein. He also pumped septic tanks for many years. Dave retired from Donaldson’s in Baldwin, Wisconsin. After retirement he moved back to Maynard and worked for the Maynard Coop in the spring and fall.
Dave served on the Maynard City Council for many years and was even the Mayor of Maynard for a few years. He was a member of the Lundbye-Carpenter American Legion Post #245 of Maynard. Dave was a lifetime Bears fan. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, attending Amish Auctions, hitting the casino, driving his golf cart, and a good buffet. Dave most enjoyed his time spent with his family. He was proud that two of his sons followed in his footsteps and served in the Army. He was equally proud of all three of his sons and they all took after him in different ways. Dave loved his grandchildren. He was always quick to give some advice whether you wanted it or not.
Dave is survived by his wife: Marj Bunn of Maynard; 3 sons: Jeff (Jennifer) Bunn of Fayette, Steve (Laurie) Bunn of Oelwein and Garret (Norma) Bunn of Raymond; 5 grandchildren: Donovan Bunn, Madelyn Bunn, Jade Bunn, Heather (David) Kral and Jackson (Abigail) Brown; 5 great grandchildren: Kysen, Otis, Malachi, Teddy and Josiah; sister: Mary Kay Diem of Fayette; 3 brothers: Ab (Judy) Bunn, Robert (Shirley) Bunn and
