He was preceded in death by his Parents--3 Brothers (Robert Kaune, LaVern Kaune, and Marvin Kaune)--and Beloved Friends (Stone Boy and Cody).

Daryl Ernest Kaune was born on July 5, 1945 at Independence, Iowa the son of Ivan Luther and Mildred Ada (Eschen) Kaune. He graduated from West Central High School in Maynard, Iowa in 1963. Daryl married Jeannie Susan Bathke on March 6, 1965 at Oran, Iowa. He was a truck driver for 35 years for Walnut Grove, Occo Feeds, Ace Lines, Hoffman Trucking, Jensen Trucking, Dave Kirk Trucking, Warren Transport, Hub City Implement, and the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Daryl also owned and operated I J D Trucking for 5 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Maynard, Iowa, a member of AA and had been sober for 6 years, Teamsters, and the Truck Drivers Union.
