Cecily Ann Brown Obituary (1937

Cecily "Sissy" Ann Brown, 78, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, September 21, 2015 at her home in Quasqueton, Iowa. Cecily was born June 12, 1937 at Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Clifford and Lillian Waltz Freyhage. She attended Dubuque schools and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. She worked various places including Nissan Manufacturing. She is survived by seven children: Mike (Patricia) Sojka of Moorhead, MN; Allen Brown of Manchester; Stacey Starman of Urbandale; Mary (Bob) Sojka of Monroe, GA; Theresa (Jim) Verhulst of Holland, MI; Christi Takes of Cedar Rapids; and Johnna (Allan) Nunemaker of rural Quasqueton; eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her world was her grandchildren these past few years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary Brown, son Clifford Sojka, and son in law Corey Stoddard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Hoover Wesleyan Church east of Quasqueton, Iowa. The family will receive friends at the church from Noon to 2 PM on Thursday. As per her wishes following the service cremation will follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be given in her memory. The Fawcett Funeral Home and cremation services of Winthrop is assisting the family with arrangements.
