Cathy Wilson, 63, of Oelwein, Iowa died Friday morning, July 31, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2020 and for one hour before the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Cathy Anne Watson was born March 14, 1957 at Oelwein, the daughter of George Paul and Freda Bell (Peterman) Watson. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein. In 1974, she graduated from Oelwein High School and then received her Associates Degree in accounting from AIC. Cathy was employed for 13 years at Vose Moving Company and for 13 years at Warren Transport. She enjoyed reading, collecting owls, cardinals, hummingbirds, and teddy bears. Cathy especially loved being with her family. Cathy is survived by her 2 daughters: Jody (Jon) Knock of Oelwein and Jill Wilson of Waterloo; 4 grandchildren: Martina Wilson (fiance, Brenden Villaruel), Madalyn Bertrem, Autumn Wilson and Matthew Wilson-Knock; 3 sisters: Julie Pierce of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Amy Watson of Fredericksburg and Tammy Watson of Independence; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother: LaFonda Watson; maternal grandparents: Archie Peterman and Lizetta Bratten; paternal grandparents: David and Edith Watson; brother: Paul Watson; sister-in-law: Terri Watson; and aunt: Karen Stout; and many aunts and uncles.
