Carol L. Bartels, 84, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Sunday afternoon, January 3, 2016 at her home.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Reverend Connie Markle officiating.
Visitation: 10:00 A.M. to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Black Hawk Dialysis Center.

Carol Lee Wilhelm was born September 22, 1931 in Lexington, Missouri, the daughter of Peter and Donna (Jessen) Wilhelm. She graduated from the Strawberry Point High School in Strawberry Point, Iowa. On January 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Raymond Otto Bartels in Volga, Iowa. She enjoyed cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.

Robert (Brigitte) Bartels of Phoenix, Arizona,
Roger (Gloria) Bartels of Anchorage, Alaska,
Kathy Bartels of Oelwein,
Sherrie (Joel) Kilts of Mason City,
Lisa (Harry) Backer of Brandon and
Rod (Teresa) Bartels of Sioux City;
many grandchildren; step grandchildren;
great grandchildren; step-great grandchildren;
2 brothers: Ron Wilhelm of Manchester and
Keith (Snooks) Wilhelm of Elkader;
2 sisters: Anna Lou Streicher of Strawberry Point and
Chris (Bump) Moser of Guttenberg;
and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Glen Wilhelm and Robert Wilhelm; sister: Dorothy Darling; brother-in-law: Duane Streicher; and sister-in-law: Sharon Wilhelm.
