Allen J. Rubin, 77, of Oelwein, Iowa and formerly of Boynton Beach, Florida died Monday morning, July 13, 2015 at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein. Graveside Service with Interment: 12:15 P.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens, Boynton Beach, Florida. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Allen Joel Rubin was born June 20, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Morris and Clara (Adler) Rubin. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. On June 4, 1966, he was united in marriage to Joan Harriet Oshins in Westbury, New York. Allen was a data processing manager for Capri Beachwear in Farmingdale, New York and a congressional aide to Congressman Larry Smith from 1988 to 1995 in Hollywood, Florida. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling with his wife Joan. Allen is survived by his 2 sons: Martin "Marty" (Laura) Rubin of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Jason (Annette) Rubin of Oelwein, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Jordan, Noah and Holly Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother: Michael Rubin.
