Allen Joseph Ritter

Allen J. Ritter, 65, of Evansdale, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, August 22, 2014, at his home.

Celebration of Life Service: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the home of John and Lennora Steinbronn, 16271 50th Street, Oelwein.
There will be no visitation.

Allen Joseph Ritter was born April 9, 1949, at Oelwein, the son of Laverne Carl "Bud" and Margaret Frances (Hennick) Ritter. He graduated from Oelwein High School. Allen proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He married Kathleen Louise Smith at Cedar Falls, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

Allen is survived by his son, Patrick (Chandra) Ritter of West Union;
2 grandchildren, Natalie and Elias Ritter;
2 brothers, James (Judy) Ritter of Cedar Falls and William (Carol) Ritter of Waterloo;
and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a sister, Linda Ritter.
