Agnes A. Parkinson, 86, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Monday morning, January 9, 2023, at MercyOne Oelwein Medical Center in Oelwein, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Pastor Elissa Dodge officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 12, 2023, and for one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Agnes Arletha Price was born February 3, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of John Andrew and Creszenz Rachel (Bender) Price. In 1955, she graduated from Tripoli High School in Tripoli, Iowa. On March 3, 1959, she was united in marriage to Dallas Conrad Arthur Parkinson at Zion Lutheran Church in Readlyn, Iowa. Over the years Agnes was employed at the Red Fox Inn, K & L Draperies, Sam's Construction, did cake decorating and Sumner City Hall. She was a former member of the Fairbank Methodist Church. Agnes enjoyed all kinds of artwork, sewing and crafts. Agnes is survived by her 2 sons: Wyatt (Karen) Parkinson of Hazleton and Samuel Parkinson of Oelwein; daughter: Teresa Ryherd of Oelwein; 2 grandchildren: Tina (Carl) Dodge of Winthrop and Lisa (Justin) Wanek of Elkhorn, Nebraska; 4 great grandchildren: Kaylee and Andrew Dodge and Colton and Weston Wanek; brother: Alvin Price of Fairbank; sister-in-law: Diane Price of Tripoli; many nieces and nephews; and former son-in-law: Dennis Ryherd of Fairbank. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Dallas on August 1, 2014; siblings: Andrew (Olive) Price, Frances Price, Virgil (Peggy) Price, Carrie (Walter) Gaede, Marvin (Jeanette) Price and David Price; good friend and sister-in-law: Viola Price.
