Addie "Bobbie" Peake, 101, of Arlington, Iowa died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa. Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Arlington. Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Arlington. Online obituary at www.jamisonschmitzfuneralhome.com Addie Peake was born April 14, 1914 at Mederville, Iowa. Bobbie graduated from the Cedar Rapids Barber School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1940. She was the only woman enrolled in the Barber School. This career led her to many adventures, one of which was cutting the former President Ronald Reagan's hair, while He worked at WHO radio station in Des Moines, during WWII. Later, she decided to open her own barber shops, first in Volga and then in Arlington, and finally in Elkader, Iowa. Her first love during her active years were walleye fishing and then softball, which turned into some of the top conversations with customers in her barber shop. Other endeavors in her life included bowling, playing cards and golfing. To hear all the things Bobbie did do, you would think there is nothing that she missed in life. She retired when she was 88 years old to settle down in rural Arlington, where she has stayed for 57 years. She spent her time with best friend of 57 years, Joyce Henderson and another friend and confidant, her cat Joey. She jokingly said that Joey babysits her. Bobbie enjoyed her life to the FULLEST! Bobbie was preceded in death by seven brothers, Earl, Clarence, Wilbur, Frank, Victor, Hugh and Fleet and one sister Florence Dean.
